Programs and Projects
The Institute of Climate and Environmental Governance (ICEG) has several programs and projects aimed at promoting environmental governance in Africa:
Technical Research
ICEG, through its Research and Policy analysis unit, conducts research on new and innovative technologies that can help mitigate the impacts of climate change and other environmental challenges. This includes exploring renewable energy sources, sustainable agriculture practices, and other innovative solutions.
Economic Policy Analysis
ICEG through the Climate Change governance and economic transition unit conducts economic analysis aimed at supporting sustainable and equitable economic policies that promote environmental governance in Africa. This includes exploring access to sustainable finance and investment, and advocating for policies that support sustainable economic growth.
Behavioural Change
ICEG engages with communities and other stakeholders to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote behavioural changes that lead to more sustainable practices. This includes periodic tracking of stakeholders’ climate change commitments, community outreach, educational programs, and media campaigns.
Advocacy
ICEG works with governments, communities, and other stakeholders to advocate for policies and programs that improve environmental governance in Africa. This includes working with policy makers to draft and implement new environmental regulations and laws.
Collaboration
ICEG works with other organizations and institutions to leverage their expertise and resources in support of environmental governance in Africa. This includes partnering with universities, research institutions, and non-profit organizations.
